About Us

About Mumtaz, Head Speech Pathologist, Essential Speech & Swallow Therapy PLLC

Mumtaz has a Masters and Bachelors from Governors State University in Communication disorders and a Bachelors from DePaul University in Elementary Education. 

Highly educated and talented, she brings 12 years of speech therapy experience and 8 years of teaching experience to her professional practice. She has worked at level one trauma centers, rehab hospitals, and out-patient clinics across the U.S. in Illinois, California, and Texas. Prior to her career as an SLP, she worked as a teacher in grades 4-8.  She is currently, actively licensed in TX, IL, and CA and serves adults, adolescents, and children. Mumtaz is fluent in English, Urdu, and Punjabi and can help anyone seeking speech therapy in these languages.

When she’s not working she likes to read, travel, hike, go to the theater, spend time with her family and friends, and do amateur photography.
